本研究では、従来までに培った単語長の並びの乱数性に基づく各種の解析を目的としている。一般に散文では、単語長の並びに相関が無いことが、従来からの研究分担者・青山とJohn Constable(Magdalene College,Cambridge University)との研究で明らかになっている。また、韻文ではその乱数性からの規則的なずれが観測されている。本研究において、本年度はそれらの一般的性質からの微細なずれを詳細に調べ、個々の文献、著者の特性を同定する試みを主眼とした。昨年度はT.S.EliotのFour Quartetsについての研究を進めて、その隠された4音節構造を統計的に有意なものであることを発見した。そこで今年度はJim CraceのQuarantineに着目し、その音節構造を調べた。具体的には、John Constableによって、彼の開発した音節辞書とプログラムを用いて音節数のデータが作成され、そのデータを青山が統計処理した。その結果、この小説が他の散文、韻文に見られなかった特異な音節構造をしていることが発見された。現在、その構造のさらなる解析とそれに対する言語学的な検討を行なっている。それがまとまった段階で論文を発表する予定である更に、完全な乱数性からのずれとして、長い小説においてわずかな単語長の時間的減少が見られることが本研究で発見されている。本年度はこれをさらに詳細に検討し、これは統計的に明らかに有意であることを確認することができた。これについても現在論文を執筆中である。

This study is based on the analysis of the length and complexity of the language. General Prose The number of words in verse and verse is irregular and the number of words in verse and verse is regular. This year Jim Crace's Quarantine is the most important syllable structure. The specific words, John Constable, and his open syllable dictionary are statistically processed by the number of syllables. The result of the novel is that the prose and rhyme are different from each other. Now, the structure of the language is analyzed, and the language is discussed. This study found that the time for the development of a novel was reduced due to the change of the predetermined number of words, the complete number of words, and the length of words. This year, we will discuss it in detail. This paper is now being written.
