昨年度に引き続き,産業セクター別のメッシュ形式による人口データベースを,衛星画像と地理情報から作成するための方法論を構築するために,本年度はある地域における産業セクター別の人口構成への土地被覆の寄与を推定するための解析を行った.日本国内においては昨年度と同様に北海道を,更に,外国における事例として,中国・香港特別区を対象地域とした.土地被覆に関しては,IGBP-DIS data set(全球データセット)を適用した.ニューラル・ネットワークにより作成した非線形回帰モデルは,土地被覆データが産業別の人口割合を推定する際に有効であることを北海道の事例に関しては示した.香港の事例では,産業別の人口区分が北海道の場合とは異なる為か,土地被覆と産業別の人口割合の関係に関して,ニューラル・ネットワークによる非線形回帰モデルを適用した範囲では,明確な関連は示されなかった.但し,これらの解析で適用したニューラル・ネットワークの構造は,あくまでも収束することを手掛かりとして実験的に同定したものであり,その構造の妥当性に関しては,更なる検討を必要とする.また,線形モデル(多重回帰式)についても,適用を試みる必要があると思われる.今後の展開としては,昨年度において試みた地形情報と,土地被覆情報との卓越性を評価して,産業セクター別の人口を推定する際に最も有効であるパラメータを特定することと,モデルの妥当性に関する検証を試みる.
