A study of the text of "the Chinese old tales" edited by Lu-xun

这部作品的目的是为鲁迅从许多百科全书和其他方面收集的“中国古老故事”（《古小说勾陈》，《灵异》的一部分）准备一个新的文本。我把那些更好的文本（例如唐宋百科全书、北唐书钞、艺文类聚、初学集、太平玉兰、太平广记等以及后来的其他书籍）重新阅读和审阅，并为每个故事确定了一个更正确的文本。我想我可以推出一个增订版的《中国古故事》，供研究六朝古故事之用。

The purpose of this work is to prepare a new text of "the Chinese old tales" (Gu-xiaoshuo gou-chen, a part of Supernatural ) which Lu-xun has collected from many encyclopedias and others. I have reread and reviewed those books by tes better texts (for example, the encyclopedias of Tang and Sung dynasties, Beitang-shuchao, Yiwen-leiju, Chuxueji, Taiping-yulan, Taiping- guangji etc. and others of later dynasties) ,and decided a more correct text of each tale. I think that I could present an enlarged and revised edition of "the Chinese old tales" for the study of the old tales in Six Dynasties.
