私の研究の主題であるUSp行列模型は、この世界を支配している4つの相互作用を統一する超弦理論を非摂動、構成的に定義しているであろう行列模型の非自明な背景による展開である。この模型は随伴表現と基本表現からなっている。随伴表現については、IKKT行列模型と同様の考察が可能であるけれど、基本表現の部分はこの模型特有であり、主にこの部分についての研究を行なった。USp行列模型に含まれる基本表現は、以前に我々の研究によって4次元的広がりをもった非可換monopoleとして捉えられた。このmonopoleはYangによって導出されたもので、Dirac monopoleと同様の考察を高次元で行なうことにより得られるもので、自明でないChern指標を持っている。4次元の広がりを持っていることから、時空との対応も示唆されている。我々の解析で得られたこのmonopoleを表すgauge場は、特異点を持っているので、Dirac monopoleに対する'tHooft-Polyakov monopoleのような正則な特異点を持たないgauge場について調べている。6次元時空上での、基本表現のHiggs場を持つSO(5)Yang-Mills模型を用いて、対応するmonopoleの従うべき微分方程式を導きだし、いくつかの数値的検証を試みた。
