近世日本の対外政策の変遷とオランダ東インド会社:「鎖国」形成とその認識をめぐって

本年度は主に東京大学史料編さん所およびオランダの国立中央文書館(Nationaal Archief, The Hague)・同国王立言語学地理学民俗学研究所(KITLV, Leiden)・イタリアのEU大学院(European University Institute, Firenze)において史料調査と研究論文執筆に従事した:海外での史料調査(4〜6月,8〜9月)は、NA・KITLVにてオランダ東インド会社「一般政務報告(Generale Missiven)」と「本国指令書(Patriasche Missiven)」(1640〜1795年分)の翻字作成および史料校正。またBritish Library (London, UK)においてイギリス・オランダ両東インド会社史料の短期調査を実施。さらに史料編さん所において複製マイクロフィルムによって最終史料校正と英文報告執筆を行った。また研究成果の口頭発表については、(1)平成14年度作成の本研究中間報告に基づき、英国日本学協会年次大会(2003年4月14〜16日,Sheffield, UK)において研究報告"The Imaginary Great Empire : Early Modern Japanese/Korean Relations through Dutch Eyes"を行った。また今年度の新たな研究成果について(2)第10回欧州日本学協会大会(2003年8月27〜30日,Warsaw, Poland)でパネル"Re-contextualising Japanese 'Boundaries' : Women's Migratory Movement and Marriage from the Perspective of Historical Studies"をオーガナイズし、同時に研究報告"On the Formation of 'the Japanese' in the Edo Period : A Re-examination of Female Migration and Marriage under the National Seclusion Policy"を行い、(3)第9回ヨーロッパ考古学者協会年次大会(2003年9月10〜14日,St.Petersburg, Russia)で研究報告"Cerebrating the Colonial Encounters : Dutch Heritage and the Presence and Absence of Post-Colonial Discourses in the Netherlands and Asia"を行った。
