本年度は国外の現地史料収集を予定通り終了し、研究成果を学術雑誌に発表していった。まず昨年度のイェール大学滞在時に理解を深めた同大学所蔵の中国近現代関連史料について、日本の研究者の利用に供せるよう、史料リストとレファレンスを併せた学会参加記として学術雑誌に発表した。本年度春期の同大学図書館ならびに古文書館における絶版・稀書の二次文献収集で、1960年代に現地華人コミュニティ内部で発行された書籍は、実証が優れながらも当時の思想的バイアスが強く、20世紀初頭南北アメリカ華人に関する先行研究に過分な国民国家的性格を加える一面があると分かった。よって本研究では、国民国家アプローチから史料の精読と実証研究の発表に重点を移した。まず華人労働者運搬のための広東・ペルー間の太平洋横断汽船航路設置プランに関する実証研究を終え、その成果を学術雑誌に掲載した。この研究ではある苦力貿易事件を事例に、1874年に東アジアにおける苦力貿易禁止体制が確立したことと、それに伴う英・米・ペルーの国際政治力学の変化が、アジアと南米の間の労働者の移動を減速させたことを明らかにした。近代における華人の大陸間移動からみた両大陸間の国家・地域関係の特徴のひとつとして、施為性を挙げた。秋期には北京で史料収集をおこない、現地でその整頓を依頼・完了した。この調査でペルーに最初に建てられた清国領事館の史料を発見し、領事館-現地有力華商のあいだで本国との紐帯を強化し商人の利益を保護する閉鎖的関係が築かれていった様相を確認した。十数人の現地華商を代理領事に任命してコミュニティを管理したり、善堂経営と漢籍教化を提供したりと、その僑務の様相は洋務運動と広東地方統治の合体で、19世紀華人の大陸間移動現象は広東地方社会と大陸の特定地域局部の関係として捉えられる。成果は北米・キューバの史料と合わせて今年中に口頭およぴ雑誌発表する。

The focus of this study has been shifted to the development of historical materials and practical research. The results of this research are published in academic journals. The study of the coolie trade incident in 1874 established the coolie trade ban system in 1874 and slowed down the movement of the coolie in 1874. In modern times, the Chinese people moved between continents, and the characteristics of intercontinental relations between countries and regions were discussed. The autumn period of Beijing's historical data collection, local rectification, according to the end The investigation was carried out to confirm the relationship between the establishment of the Qing consulate and the strengthening of the protection of the interests of the Chinese businessmen. A dozen Chinese businessmen were appointed as deputy consuls, and the good government and Chinese culture were provided. The overseas Chinese were involved in the Westernization Movement and the integration of local governance in the East. The phenomenon of intercontinental migration of Chinese in the 19th century was related to the local relations in specific regions of the East. The results of the survey were reported in the middle of this year.
