(1)Compile of previous researches:Previous studies on drifting snow were compiled about dynamic mechanism of drifting snow particles, theoretical simulation of drifting snow, observation methods and wind-tunnel experiments about drifting snow.(2)Observations of snow particles on a snow surface:Snow blocks were sampled from the outer snow surface and set to the bottom of small wind-tunnel, by which threshold wind velocities for snow particles to drift were observed. Simultaneously the snow particles were fallen down in a pipe and the terminal velocities of particles were observed.The threshold velocities and terminal velocities had some relation depending of particle size and form. They were small for dendrite snow flakes and large for rimed snow flakes and melting particles.(3)Automatic Weather Station (AWS)AWSs were set on from coastal region to inland region and the acquired data were compiled up. The temperature rise on a ventilator by solar radiation was a problem of temperature observation. Several experiments were carried out to eliminate this temperature rise.(4)Redistribution of snow accumulation:Simulation of redistribution of snow accumulation on an ice sheet was done by estimating katabatic wind velocities and drift transport rate. The katabatic wind velocities depend on surface slope and temperature inversion, the relation of which were obtained from the AWS data and NCEP synoptic analysis data.
(1)前人研究成果的整理:对国内外关于飘雪的研究成果进行了整理,包括飘雪粒子的动力学机制、飘雪的理论模拟、飘雪的观测方法以及飘雪的风洞实验。(2)雪面上雪颗粒的观测:在雪面上采集雪块,放置于小型风洞底部,观测雪颗粒漂移的临界风速。同时,对管道中的雪颗粒进行了下落实验,观测了颗粒的终端速度,发现颗粒的起动速度和终端速度存在一定的关系,这与颗粒的大小和形状有关。对于枝状雪花来说,它们很小,而对于有边雪花和融化颗粒来说,它们很大。(3)从沿海到内陆布设自动气象站(AWS),并对采集的数据进行整理。太阳辐射引起的通风机温升是一个温度观测问题。为了消除这种温升,进行了几次实验。(4)积雪的再分布:通过估算下降风速和漂移输运率,模拟了积雪在冰盖上的再分布。利用自动气象站资料和NCEP天气分析资料,得到了地面坡度和逆温与下斜风速的关系。
