電波天文衛星「はるか」を使ったVSOPサーベイデータの解析を、宇宙研研究者および外国人特別研究員Kaj Wiik博士と協力しながら、すすめた。この年度に、世界にまたがる大きな解析チームによる論文が3編、準備された。また、この3編の次の論文は、Richard Dodsonが主となっておこなった解析結果にもとづいたデータによる論文となる予定である。次期スペースVLBIミッションに関わる研究として、撮像性能などの評価をおこなった。磁気ディスクを記録媒体としてつかうVLBIについて、検討、実績を積んだ。このようなシステムは、次期スペースVLBI計画VSOP-2においても記録に使われることになろう。オーストラリアの電波望遠鏡でおこなわれたデータをもとに、VELAパルサーなど、中心パルサーがエネルギーを供給している星雲状のパルサー天体について、解析、研究を続行し、各種雑誌に発表した。また、メタノールメーザー線の観測を行って、研究、論文を投稿した。
