(1)美術史学会全国大会(5月23日於関西学院大学)において「『ヒュプネロトマキア』における凱旋行進のイメージ表現について」と題する口頭発表を行った。ルネサンスの北イタリアにおける凱旋行進の図像が、ペトラルカ的徳の凱旋から、神々の愛の豊饒をたたえる権力者のための凱旋へという転回を果たす契機として、挿絵入りの物語『ヒュプネロトマキア』をとらえようと試みた。とりわけ、これまで注目されていなかった『ヒュプネロトマキア』の凱旋の内容とフェッラーラにおける凱旋を扱った壁面装飾との連関を指摘した。(京都大学大学院人間・環境学研究科紀要投稿予定)(2)7月18日より8月19日まで、イタリア国立マルチャーナ図書館(ヴェネツィア)、イタリア国立フィレンツェ図書館、およびフランス国立図書館(パリ)において調査を行い、その結果を美学会西部会例会(9月27日於大阪大学)において「言葉とイメージの変遷と相互作用:『ヒュプネロトマキア』受容についての一考察」として口頭発表した。この発表では、ラブレーによる翻案、イギリス一九世紀末におけるデカダンス趣味を反映した読み、さらにはユングの心理学との関連や澁澤龍彦による日本への紹介などの文学的な受容のみならず、絵画や建築、彫刻、祝祭、庭園などの視覚的な分野における本書の反映にいたるまで、様々な時代や地域、分野にまたがる受容の様相を渉猟し、『ヒュプネロトマキア』がどのように読まれてきたのか、イメージを媒介とした思考について留意しながら解釈のいくつかの傾向を分類、整理した。(『美学』投稿予定)(3)前年度(平成14年度)の研究成果をまとめた論文「『ヒュプネロトマキア』における言葉とイメージ:オベリスクの神殿部分を中心に」が『美術史』第155冊に掲載された。(10月)。これは『ヒュプネロトマキア』にみられる建築エクフラシスの特色を考察したものである。
