项目摘要

本研究課題を遂行するため、平成16年度において以下のような研究を行った。1)資料の収集・整理:昨年度から引き続き、ネーデルラント絵画の降誕図像の、美術史的・歴史的文献資料の収集を行い、文献目録を作成すると共に、画像を添付した、総合的なデータベース作成を行った。データベース内には基本的資料の他に、「降誕の穴」というモチーフに注目し、解釈・分類などの項目をつくり、研究に生かしている。データベースの母胎としては、本年度よりファイルメーカーDeveloper7を使用し、スタンド・アローンのデータベース作成が可能となった。これによって、研究成果をより広範囲の場所で発表・活用していくことができる。2)本年度の新たな着眼点:15世紀のネーデルラントを中心とした「降誕の穴」図像に関する研究を進め、『國學院雑誌』にて論文を発表した。先行研究の問題点を指摘し、多数の作例を分類しながら、モチーフのネーデルラントにおける伝播経過を論じたものである。さらに『美術史研究』で、ドイツの「降誕の穴」モチーフについての研究成果を発表した。ロヒール・ファン・デル・ウェイデンを起源とする「降誕の穴」が描かれた降誕図の、ドイツにおける発展の初段階と、モチーフの終焉について述べたものである。3)現地調査:初期ネーデルラント絵画や、ゴシック末期のドイツ絵画は、著名なもの以外の作品画像が日本では入手しにくいため、調査旅行の際に画像データを収集することは、本研究を進めていく上で、非常に重要となっている。今年度は、「降誕の穴」モチーフのある作品を数多く排出している南ドイツを中心に、核となる作品である《ブラデリン祭壇画》や、優れた初期ネーデルラント絵画を所蔵しているベルリン国立絵画館にて調査を行い、15から16世紀のドイツ、ネーデルラントの降誕図、資料を収集した。
