ヨーロッパ文化に現れた脱黙示録志向の考察を中心に進めながら、黙示録文化の弁証法の実相の解明を目指す本研究の成果は、次の三点にまとめられる。第一に、黙示録文化特有の屈折した現象、すなわち黙示録と脱黙示録の相反する二つの志向が黙示録に精通する同一の人物の内に宿るという特異な現象を、トポス論を踏まえながら明らかにしたことである。その際、黙示録と脱黙示録の二つの志向の混淆を初めて文学化した表現主義抒情詩集『人類の薄明』を主たる考察対象に据えた。本成果は韓国独文学会の国際学会誌(平成13年)にドイツ語論文として公表されている。第二に、インゲボルク・バッハマンの『ウンディーネ行く』におけるユートピア志向と黙示録志向との混淆の解明が挙げられる。その際、日本における水の精の物語であり同時に黙示録志向を有する泉鏡花の『夜叉ヶ池』と比較対照とすることで、ヨーロッパ的黙示録における一回性と日本的黙示録における循環性を問題にした。本成果はドイツ・ベルリン大学教授のHannelore Scholz氏によって編集され、平成13年冬にベルリンで刊行されたバッハマン論集に掲載されている。第三に、黙示録的な音に関する文学的トポスがドイツ文学に頻出することを指摘し、トーマス・マンの作品などから具体的事例を挙げて考察した。本成果は日本独文学会の国際学会誌(平成15年夏)にドイツ語論文として掲載されることになっている。
