项目摘要

今年度はアダン・ド・ラ・アル作『葉蔭の劇』の写本に記載された二つの「タイトル」の解釈を通して、当時の作品受容のありかたを考察し、この研究成果を『フランス文学語学研究』(2002年、第21号)に発表した。『葉蔭の劇』は,1276年にアラスで上演されたと考えられている。通例,中世の作品の場合,作品の末尾に記された.explicitの記述,作品の冒頭の語句であるincipit,テクスト本文の前に付けられた見出しrubriqueのいずれかを,作品を同定するタイトルとして流用する場合が多い.『葉蔭の劇』Jeu de la Feuilleeというタイトルは,作品全編を記載している唯一の写本であるBnF fr. 25566写本のexplicitの記述、《Explicit li ieus de le fuellie》から取られたものだ.現在、この作品の呼称として,explicitの記述から取られたJeu de la Feuilleeが定着しているが,この写本には本文テクストの前に,Li jus Adan「アダンの劇」という見出しも記載されている.つまりこの写本の写字生は,explicitと見出しに二つの異なる「タイトル」を記述していることになる。この二つの「タイトル」の記述に対し、作者が関与している可能性は低いが,少なくともこの二つの表題は,作品を書写した写字生および同時代の人間の作品受容のあり方を示す手がかりであることは確かである.この二つの「タイトル」には、いくつかの解釈が可能である.まず作品の見出しにある《Li jus Adan》という名称は,劇の作者であるアダン・ド・ラ・アルを示すのと同時に,劇の中の登場人物であるアダンの姿を想起させる.一方explicitにある《li jeu de le fuellie》という名称は、劇の中で、舞台装置として置かれた妖精を迎える緑の東屋をまず指すと同時に,後半の舞台となった居酒屋,アラスのノートルダム教会の聖遺物厘の収容場所,アダンとその妻マロワの若き日の恋愛の思い出など,作品中に現われる様々な要素を示唆する.また《fuellie》は,《folie》の異形と読み替えられることで,作品中に遍在する狂気のモチーフを浮かび上がらせる.この様々な解釈を呼び起こす二つの「タイトル」には,複雑な構造を持ち多義的な『葉蔭の劇』の書写を託された当時の写字生の作品受容のあり方が象徴的に示されているのだ。
