2002年度は在宅ワーカーとして働いている女性12名と在宅ワーカーを組織しているネットワーカー3名にインテンシヴな面接調査を行うことができた。1 ネットワーカーの調査 ネットワークを組織、運営していく中で在宅ワーカーの技能レベルは重要な課題になっている。それについて積極的にオフ会などで指導をするものもいれば、全くワーカーの自助努力ということで何の指導もしないものもいる。また、一緒に仕事をしたい人には何年かかってもアプローチをし、それでネットワークを作ったケースもあった。以上のように高い技能を持つ人の確保は簡単には行かず、単なる下請としてワーカーを使うか、技能形成も含めて面倒を見ていくのかは組織する者の指向性によってはっきり分かれている。2 女性ワーカーの面接調査 (1)在宅ワーカーの技能形成については、学卒後就職した企業でパソコンについての基本的な操作や知識を得た者が多い。また、現在行っている仕事も以前の勤め先と関係あることが多い。(2)在宅ワーカーの職業教育については、ほとんどの場合OJT、独自で仕事をしながら努力するという形で行われている。これは細分化された在宅ワーカーの仕事に対応する教育機関がないこと、在宅ワーカーの中でも仕事を始めたばかりの者と仕事が軌道に乗ってきた者など様々なニーズを持つものがおり、対応が難しいのが現状である。しかしながら、力のあるネットワーカーは勉強会を開いたり、様々な情報をMLで流したりと努力をしている。(3)ワーカーの仕事と家庭の両立については、各自がかなりの努力を行っていることでそれが可能になっている。家事の合理化や省力化を行い、場合によっては親の援助を受けながら仕事のための時間を確保している。
