本研究の初年度にあたる今年度は、大規模稲作の経営戦略を分析するにあたり、その基礎資料として大規模稲作の経営内容を統計的に把握した。農林水産省統計情報部が行った過去3ケ年の「農家経済調査」をもとに組み替え集計を行い、大規模稲作の経営内容を、中小規模の稲作さらには他部門の大規模経営の経営内容と比較し、大規模稲作経営の独自の経営パフォーマンスを析出することを試みた。その分析にあたっては、経営内容に関わる統計数値を基礎としながら、一般企業経営が実際に行っている貸借対照表(B/S)、損益計算書(P/L)を作成し、そうした財務諸表をもとにしながら、収益性分析・生産性分析・成長性分析・安全性分析を実施した。これらの分析により、中小規模稲作経営と比べると、大規模稲作経営では、農業所得率、農業固定資本生産性、売上原価率、自己資本比率などにおいてはその値が相対的に低く、一方、農業依存度、農業純生産、農業労働生産性、売上高経常利益率、売上高総利益率、総資本経常利益率、総資本回転率、総資本付加価値率、固定比率、固定長期適合率などにおいてはその値が相対的に高いということが明らかとなった。こうしたことは、大規模稲作経営の経営内容の基本的特徴を表すものである。なお、こうした農業経営分析を進めるにあたり、本来、一般企業で行われている経営分析への利用を目的としていない「農家経済調査」の統計上の限界や問題点が明らかとなったことも研究成果の1つである。また,こうした農業経営分析および農業経営戦略で先進的な理論的・実務的研究が進んでいるオーストラリアに足を運び、既存研究に関する調査を実施した。
