現在、結婚、出産、子供の成長・独立、両親との同居などによる家族のライフステージの変化が1つの住宅でなされることが多いため、その変化に伴って柔軟に住宅の空間構成の組み替えができることが必要である。また女性が結婚後も安心して仕事を続けられるような真の男女共同参画社会を実現するため、今後の住宅では、各家族員が無理なく家事・育児などを分担できるような空間構成が求められる。このような背景から、本研究では、特に結婚後も働く女性を対象とし、住まい方、空間に対する意識、家族観、仕事観などが、ライフステージ、勤務形態などによる影響を受けるかを明らかにすることを目的としている。なお本研究では、ライフステージを乳幼児期(0〜6歳)、学童期(7〜12歳)、学生期(13〜18歳)、青年期(19歳以上)の4つに分類する。平成14年度は、東京圏に居住する単世帯を対象とし、アンケート調査を実施した。配布数509件、回収数293件、有効回答数225件である。調査内容は、共働き女性の生活の実態(家事・育児の夫婦間における役割分担、家事行為とその使用空間、家事の外部サービス利用など)、家事・育児・仕事に対する意識、現在の住まいへの意見などである。家族属性の概要は平均世帯人数3.86人、平均子供人数1.86人、夫の平均年齢42.7歳、妻の平均年齢40.3歳、長子の平均年齢11.9歳である。本年度は主に夫婦間における家事・育児役割分担に関してライフステージによる分析を行った。その特徴は下記の通りである。1)ライフステージを問わず、夫、妻ともに行っている行為は、掃除関連の行為であり、その割合は8割以上である。その他、特に乳幼児期世帯において、夫が妻同様に育児関連の行為を行う傾向が顕著である。2)食事関連の行為(準備、後片づけ)、洗濯関連の行為は、いずれのライフステージでもほぼ妻が行っている。ただし乳幼児期世帯の夫の場合は、「夕食の後片づけ」(8割弱)をよく行っている。
