项目摘要

今年度は、正戦論がキリスト教とイスラームにおいて機能する場合の同質な要素と異質な要素に注目しながら、正戦論が現代において果たす意義について考察をした。ユダヤ教・キリスト教・イスラームといった一神教が、どのような理由(状況)で暴力(戦争)に接近するのかを考えると、正戦論のアナロジーとして聖戦(宗教的な動機付けを伴った戦い)の解釈が重要になる。これらの一神教の伝統には、終末論的な世界観や歴史観が共通要素として存在しているが、それは過去の思考方法にとどまらず、現代の紛争やテロのある局面においても、重要な役割を果たしていることがわかった。また、紛争の背景理解のために、単に直接的な暴力のあり方を観察するだけでなく、そうした暴力を生み出す構造的な暴力の所在についても探求を進めた。一神教に共通の伝統として偶像崇拝の禁止があるが、特にイスラームの場合は、バーミヤンの仏像破壊の例を引くまでもなく、この禁止規定に対する関心が高い。現代においては、偶像は物質的な対象物に限定されるべきではなく、むしろ、偶像を構造的暴力(たとえば経済格差や文化的差別)を正当化あるいは神聖化する象徴的力として理解した方が、暴力の起点を探りやすくなると思われる。このことは9.11テロ事件においても明瞭に認められる。研究成果の一端を今年度は次のような形で成果発表した。「一神教と多神教の二分法に対する批判的考察」(日本宗教学会第62回学術大会)、「セム系一神教の終末論に関する比較宗教学的考察」(日本基督教学会第51回学術大会)、"The Confrontation of Monotheistic and Polytheistic View of Nature in Japan" (American Academy of Religion,2003 Annual Meetings)、"Conflicts of Pacifism and Just War Theory from the Japanese and Christian Viewpoint" (CISMOR International Workshop)、「戦争論に対する神学的考察」(日本基督教学会近畿支部会)。

This year's positive and negative theories have been examined in terms of the significance of teaching and function of homogeneous elements and heterogeneous elements in modern times.
