古来日本絵画において大気の表現は、画家の空間を把握する認識のありかたが如実に示される部分である。室町時代以来わが国の水墨画に多大な影響を与え続けてきた中国・南宋時代の画家牧谿や玉澗の大気表現は、薄墨を滲ませるように用いたものであった。一方着色画においては、狩野・土佐・長谷川派などが金泥や金箔で雲あるいは霞をあらわしており、平面的で概念的・装飾的印象を与える。空の色が今日我々がイメージするところの青色であらわされるのは、18世紀後半までまたねばならず、19世紀になって葛飾北斎筆『富嶽三十六景』シリーズの目にも鮮やかな青い空が巷間を席巻したのは日本絵画の空間表現における一大革命といえる。本研究では以上のように江戸時代における大気表現が装飾的なものから青い空へと変遷する過程を考察するものである。平成16年度は、14、15年度の研究に基づき、空を青く表現する絵画の調査・データベース化を進めた。この成果として、研究発表「浮世絵風景版画の大気表現-『冨嶽三十六景』の青い空」(平成16年12月21日、於慶應義塾大学)を行った。また、本研究を補い、同時に本研究から発展する問題意識として、大英博物館にて狩野休栄筆「隅田川長流図巻」の資料調査を実施した。この資料は当該研究に関連し、なおかつ平成17年度科学研究費補助金に応募中の課題「江戸都市景観図に関する総合的研究」へとつながるものである。

At the same time, in the course of this study, there is a lot of knowledge about how to solve the problem in this study, and the data of the British Museum, Nagahikawa Sumida, and so on. It is time to study the science and technology in Pingcheng in the 17th year of the Scientific Research Grant for the study of the joint study of the urban landscape of the Yangtze River.
