戦後日本の経済発展に新規学卒労働者の安価で安定的な供給が寄与したといわれる。しかし、この労働力が一般労働者あるいは自営業と比べてどの程度のインパクトを日本経済に与えたのかは明らかになっていない。本研究は、新規学卒、一般雇用者、自営業などの地域間移動を長期的に把握するために、各省庁個別に提供されている統計を統一フォーマットで収集・整理し、また都道府県別に集計されたデータを付加することで1947-1965年のデータ・ベースを作成し、上記の課題を可能にする。データ・ベースは、新規学卒、一般雇用者、自営業(各男女、部分的に年齢コホート)別に[総リスト]-[調査名]-[統計表]という層構成をもち、統計表の画像とExcel変換表で収蔵してある。集計した統計は、不定期調査については、(1)国勢調査(1950年、1955年、1960年、1965年)に加え、(2)1944年、1945年、1946年の人口調査、(3)1947年の臨時国勢調査、(4)1948年の常住人口調査、(5)就業構造基本調査(1956年、1959年、1962年)のデータを収集し、都道府県別に整理を行った。各年度調査については、(1)職業安定業務統計(労働市場年報:1951年〜)、(2)学校基本調査(1955年〜)、(3)人口移動報告年報(1954年〜)を同様の形式で収蔵し、(1)については各職業安定所単位で、(2)(3)については都道府県別に集計整理した。団塊の世代によってピークを迎える当時の社会移動・地域間移動は、同世代人口に対する移動率のインパクトとしてみると収集期間中において安定的である。当時のインパクトとしては、移動パターンが問題なのではなく、同世代人口数の増加を背景とする若年移動の絶対量が顕著に評価されていると考えられる。
