项目摘要

平成16年度は、1920-30年代に都市の郊外に成立した郊外型幼稚園について、これまで個別の事例で検討してきた次の4つの事例について総合的に考察した。(1)橋詰せみ郎の家なき幼稚園(1922年設立)、(2)小林宗作の成城幼稚園(1925年設立)、(3)高崎能樹の阿佐ヶ谷幼稚園(1925年設立)、(4)賀川豊彦の松沢幼稚園(1933年設立)その結果、郊外型幼稚園の特徴について明らかになったことは以下の3点である。(1)郊外型幼稚園は、都市新中間層の登場と彼らのユートピア的居住空間としての郊外住宅地の成立を背景に生まれた。それゆえに、新中間層の家族戦略、文化装置としての都市のありように関わる教育を構想した。(2)自然の中での保育を構想、実践して、自然と関わることによる子どもの調和的発達、遊びの教育的価値の向上に関する教育言説を大量に生産し、自然との関わりを中心とするカリキュラムを考案していった。(3)早期教育の思想にもとづく保育を実践し、新中間層の親たちの求める「パーフェクトチャイルド」として子どもを教育しようとする志向性をもった。これにより、郊外型幼稚園は子育てを担う母親の意識を強く喚起しながら、新中間層の教育戦略に明確な方針と正当性を与えていった。本年度の研究成果は、「1920〜30年代の郊外型幼稚園における保育の位相」と題して、日本保育学会第57回大会(兵庫教育大学・神戸親和女子大学)で報告された。また、事例(2)については、「1920-30年代の成城幼稚園における保育の位相-小林宗作のリズムによる教育を中心に-」(日本乳幼児教育学会、乳幼児教育学研究第13号、pp.51〜60、2004年)として学会誌に論文が掲載された。
