本年度は、主としてエカチェリーナ1世時代(1725-27年)におけるロシア統治構造の諸相の解明を目的とした研究論文の執筆を中心に研究活動を進め、同論文を完成させた。この中では、1.ロシア国家において初めて女性君主の正式な即位を可能とした、法的・政治的な前提条件の確認、2.エカチェリーナ政府による国内・対外政策の全般的傾向と時期的変遷の整理、3.当時の最上位の高官達による献策が政策決定過程に及ぼした影響の分析を通じての、皇帝権力と貴族エリート層との間の政治的関係の考察、4.当時の勤務層から皇帝宛てに提出された嘆願書の内容および処遇の数量的整理を通じての、ロシア勤務層の日常的な勤務態度や心性の考察、5.18世紀初頭における俸給システム整備の過程に見られる、ロシア政府による財政的苦境への対応のありようの追究、6.皇帝権力の強化に寄与した諸要素の分析(女帝の乏しい統治能力を補完する「寵臣」メーンシコフ公爵の機能、近衛重騎兵隊や皇帝の日常的儀礼による君主権力の「権威」の側面の強化の働きなど)、といった論題を扱った。なお、当該論文の執筆過程において不足の史料や文献の存在が明らかとなったため、2005年11月に2週間ほどモスクワに滞在し、現地の図書館および文書館でそれら文献の調査にも従事した。こうした成果に関しては、今後個別の論文や口頭報告の形で早急に外部に発信する予定である。その他、2004年末に早稲田大学西洋史研究会第45回大会で行った口頭報告を下敷きとしつつ、さらに論旨を整理し情報を追加する形で、ピョートル1世時代(1682-1725年)のロシアにおける国家儀礼の性格に関する雑誌論文も2005年度内に執筆した。
