项目摘要

It is important to reveal the variation in ice mass of the Antarctic ice sheet caused by global climatic change. The objective of this project is to reveal the effect of variation in the end of ice sheet on the dynamical behavior of drainage basin in Antarctic ice sheet. Japanese Antarctic Research Expeditions (JAREs) have collected the ground data on surface topography, bedrock topography, surface snow conditions and surface mass balance in the Shirase drainage basin of which summit of the ice sheet (Dome Fuji). The dynamical behavior of Shirase Glacier is very important to understand the response of the Shirase drainage basin to global climatic change. It is difficult to approach Shirase Glacier because of the existence of many crevasses. It is possible to collect various information of the glacier using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAM).In order to investigate the effect of variation of the end of ice sheet on the dynamical behavior of drainage basin in Antarctica, the analysis system was built using Geographic Information System (GIS). It is possible to compare ground observation data such as surface topography, snow surface conditions and surface mass balance with image data by Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). And to reveal the mechanism of ice sheet change, the analysis of multi frequencies radio echo sounding observation data on the internal structure of the ice sheet.
揭示全球气候变化引起的南极冰盖冰量变化具有重要意义。本项目的目的是揭示南极冰盖末端变化对流域动力学行为的影响。日本南极研究考察队(JARES)在白濑流域收集了有关表面地形、基岩地形、表面积雪状况和表面物质平衡的地面数据,白濑流域位于冰盖的最高点(Dome Fuji)。白濑冰川的动力学行为对于理解白濑流域对全球气候变化的响应具有重要意义。白濑冰川因为有很多冰缝,所以很难接近。利用合成孔径雷达(SAM)可以采集冰川的各种信息,为了研究冰盖末端变化对南极流域动力学行为的影响,利用地理信息系统(GIS)建立了南极冰盖末端变化分析系统。可以将地面观测数据,如表面地形、雪面状况和表面物质平衡与合成孔径雷达的图像数据进行比较。并通过分析多频无线电测深观测资料对冰盖内部结构的影响,揭示冰盖变化的机理。
