Study of evolution and domestication of red jungle fowl in Southeast Asia

这个原鸡研究小组一直在对亚洲原鸡和土鸡进行形态学和遗传学研究。本研究的目的是确认红原鸡3个亚种在东南亚大陆的分布，阐明红原鸡在东南亚的进化和驯化。通过与泰国本地鸡杂交的听力调查，证实了红原鸡与泰国红原鸡之间存在明显的相关性。通过对红原鸡3个亚种D-loop区的分析，很难确定家鸡的唯一祖先。原鸡的驯养是建立在原鸡与人类之间长期而密切的相互关系上的。

This research group on jungle fowl has been making morphological and genetic research activities on jungle fowl and native chickens in Asia. The aim of this study is to confirm the distribution of 3 subspecies of red jungle fowls in continental Southeast Asia, and to clarify the evolution and domestication of red jungle fowl in Southeast Asia.A clear interrelationship has been confirmed between the result of hearing surveys on crossing with native chickens and red jungle fowl in Thailand.From our result of analysis of D-loop region in three subspecies of red jungle, it was difficult to confirm the sole ancestor of domestic chicken. The domestication of jungle fowl is established in long and close interrelationship between the jungle fowl and the human being.
