本年度は、1.中堅的農家における広域レベルネットワーク形成の様態を調査した。主として、山形県酒田市北平田地区における防除ヘリ組織に焦点を当てた。その結果次のようなことが判明した--そこに見られる広域組織化は、兼業化の深化状況のなかで専業・兼業の利害が概ね一致して成立したという面を持つ一方、他方で、経営状況の面で問題を孕み実は葛藤を抱えたものであること。その葛藤はリーダー相互の社会関係によってある程度カバーしてきたものの、不安定さを抱えていること--。この広域組織化の構想には、個別の農業経営継承よりも地域農業の維持継承をはかる意図があり、そこには小経営の性格変化がうかがえる。また、組織化の背景にある旧行政村を枠組みとした社会関係は、現在の農業リーダーの世代において重要なものとしてあらわれてきたと考えられる。以上のほか、岩手県内のグリーンツーリズム、・地産地消活動についても予備的な調査を行なった(具体的には東和町、矢巾町、大東町)。特に学校給食を基にした地産地消活動は、近年注目されるCommunity Supported Agricultureの一例と考えられ、今後調査を深めていきたいと考えている。2.上述のようなネットワークの歴史的経緯と特性をより明らかにするため、戦前のリーダー的農民の活動にも遡及して調査を行なった。具体的には、山形県庄内地方の農本主義運動(満州開拓)を担った農民家族の生活史と、地域に与えた影響について、庄内地方およびその移住先である北海道へ調査を行なった。その調査と分析はいまだ途中であるが、4世代に渡る経営主の営農志向は、時代の課題に大きく規定されていることに加え、上の世代との反発・対抗のなかで、それぞれの立ち位置を反省するなかで決定されてきたことがうかがえる。今後は、こうした志向と共同性とがいかに関係してきたかを考察したい。
