本研究の目的は、中国地域(中国政治)研究における60年代中国社会の政治動態の分析、政治学における社会主義体制研究および大衆行動論研究の理論枠組の構築、に置かれるものであった。この2つの目的より、当該研究期間においては、文革期における大衆組織とりわけ「保守派」組織の政治動向の解明、およびそれによってもたらされた文革期における政治変動=中国社会主義体制の動揺・変容の具体的過程の解明という研究目標を設定した。これらの研究目標は(1)資料収集・聞き取り調査による基礎データの整理・分析、(2)従来の中華人民共和国史・中国社会主義体制史・文革史をめぐる国内外の諸研究の批判的検討、(3)新たな理論枠組の提示という作業プロセスによって進められた。本年度の実績について、(1)については、平成13年度〜14年度における科学研究費補助金の助成による資料収集の実績に基づき、『新編紅衛兵資料』全20巻(総頁数9644頁)を中心として諸組織の政治動向に関するデータの整理・分析を行った。また同助成実績による香港中文大学中国研究サービスセンター編集のCHINESE CULTURAL REVOLUTION DATABASEに基づき、より基礎的かつ総体的な政治動向と地域における動向との連動に関するデータの整理・分析を行った。(2)・(3)については、従来の共和国史研究における文革以前(社会主義建設期)、文革期、文革以後(改革・開放期)という断絶的視点を、独自の社会主義体制構築への一貫したプロセスとして連続的に把握することを試み、これを1920年代より60年代を通底する中国共産党員による中国革命の実践のなかに位置づけるという視点に基づく論文を平成16年度中に公表する予定である。
