理論モデルを構築して分析した。その特徴は以下のとおりである。1.重要かつ今まで分析がほとんど行われていないタイプの汚染として、ある産業から発生した汚染が、他の産業の生産性に悪影響を与えるタイプの汚染を分析した。2.参考とした文献は、Copeland and Taylor (1999)であるが、より一般的なモデルを構築した。彼らのモデルには、貿易後に国が完全特化する特徴がある。分析の成果は以下の論文である。昨年度からの研究を発展させたものである。1. Trade, Environmental Policy, and Pollution-Reducing Technology主な結果:第一に、生産の外部性がある下で、貿易パターンに応じて、貿易は小国にとって望ましかったりそうでなかったりする。第二に、最適な課税だけでなく、ゆるい環境規制によっても、貿易は望ましくなり得る。第三に、優れた環境技術の導入が、厚生を下げる可能性を示した。そのための条件を政府の財政収支との関係で示した。2.
