本研究課題の目的は、地域精神医療におけるコミュニティケア(院外での精神障害者の包括的な治療)の実現をめざして(1)病院外の状況での継続的なワークショップを行うアートプロジェクト型芸術表現を用いて表現形態や表現媒体毎の差異や類同を記述し有効なマイクロエスノグラフィの実現をめざした手法を検討すること、ならびに(2)その手法をコミュニティケアや地域精神医療のガイドライン等重要課題に応用することである。本研究においては、以下を研究成果として挙げられる。【協働を目的とした場のデザイン】医療法人・浅井病院(千葉県東金市)をフィールドとして、平成16年度および平成17年度に行った病院外に設置したオルタナティヴスペース(病院のシステムとルールに規定されていない場所)のデザインをさらに発展させて、ワークショップを3年間にわたって、のべ115回実施した。精神障害者や病院スタッフおよび地域周辺住民を含めた協力者とともに、複数のステークホルダー(利害関係者)が様々な利害と趣向をもった参加意識がある場所で特定のアートプロジェクトのプログラムに与えられるような場合に、正しい利害調整や目的意識が可能となることを記述した。【アートプロジェクトとコミュニティケアをめぐるマイクロエスノグラフィ】平成16年度に続いて、ビデオ、絵画、写真を表現媒体とするワークショップを継続的に開催した。この実践を通じた知見を通じて、美術の文脈にはない媒体が与えられても学習や参加の意識の獲得を目的とした園芸(植物栽培)に関するワークショップを提案し実施した。また美術のジャンルでは認知されにくい媒体であっても、場のデザインに応じたプログラムの提示によって良好な結果が得られることを記述した。以上の研究課題に関するアプローチや成果の発表は、精神神経医学分野での成果(経過)発表のみならず、ワークショップ開催や地域でおこなわれているアートプロジェクトや美術館での展示を通じた成果発表を、研究終了後も継続している。
