Study for realizing as good readability as that of printed papers on electronic displays -Basic Research for Electronic Paper

Reading on papers is still generally preferred than reading on display in spite of the current progress of electronic display technologies. Concept of Electronic Paper is suggested as a readable electronic medium, which has both merits of a paper and electronic displays. This study aims the following two items :1) To clarify factors of the readability which is ideally realized on paper medium; clarified factors will show us good guidelines to realize a readable Electronic Paper.2) To develop a novel readable display method suitable for Electronic Paper Several guidelines for improving readability on electronic displays were clarified as a result from our research on (1). Several new display methods were suggested as our research product on (2).
