本研究は、思春期の学生を対象に性に関連する問題に対してのコーピング傾向と、医療機関への受診に伴う心理や行動の傾向を明らかにすることを目的とした。平成18年4月〜6月に、高校生男性777名・女性1012名、大学生男性205名・女性554名を対象にアンケート調査を行った。調査内容は、基本属性、内科的な問題についての状況1題、性に関連する問題についての状況3題((1)身体発育・機能の問題(2)性感染症(3)妊娠)を設定した認知的評価測定尺度、それぞれの状況に対する対処行動について等で、以下の結果を得た。高校生より大学生の方が認知的評価得点は高い傾向があった。内科的な問題に比較し性に関連する問題は、思春期学生にとって負荷の大きい問題であることがわかった。性に関連する問題の中でも「妊娠」が最も脅威が高いが、男性は「妊娠」より「性感染症」に対し脅威を感じていた。問題場面における重視する行動に関し、女性は「親しい人に相談する」、男性は「しばらく様子を見る」・「情報検索する」ことが特徴であった。「性感染症」は他の問題に比較し、「親しい人に相談する」者が少なく、「専門家に相談する」者が多かった。受診に伴う費用負担に関し、「妊娠」「性感染症」「身体発育・機能の問題」「内科的な問題」の順で親負担を希望しない者が多かった。受診の付添いに関し、「内科的な問題」「身体発育・機能の問題」は親の付添いを望む者が多いが、「妊娠」はパートナーの付添いを望む者が多かった。これらの結果を、第25回日本思春期学会にて口頭発表し、現在、研究論文として投稿中である。また、調査後は、性に関連した問題に関する対処行動について、高等学校でピアエデュケーションを実施し好評価を得た。さらに、性に関連する問題で医療機関を受診した経験のある学生への個別インタビュー調査も一部行い、学会にて追加発表の予定である。今後、本研究の精度を高めるための調査・研究も継続して行う予定である。
