今年度の研究実施状況は大きく分けて次の三つに分けることができる。第一に、博士論文の構成を確定し、その構成に従いながら研究が進んだ部分から順次執筆作業を始めた。その結果、本研究の中核部分である「冷戦後における新国家体制と安全保障・対外政策の基本理念」(第3章)、「対中ロ関係(等距離外交)の再構築」(第4章)の全部分、「対日・米関係の再構築」(第5章)の一部分を仕上げることができた。それらの研究成果の一部を環日本海学会編、『環日本海研究』2006年第12号および『北東アジア事典』国際書院、2006年10月などに掲載した(裏面記載の研究発表参照)。第二に、COE現代アジア学の創生プログラムで研究プロジエクトとして手がけた、東アジア地域関係度の解析研究のモンゴル編を担当した。具体的には、まず、モンゴルを周辺アクターとして位置づけ、首脳交流・条約締結などモンゴル政治経済の交流関係の資料・データを収集した。さらに、それに基づき東アジア地域との関係度解析を行った。その成果を、毛里和子他編『東アジア共同体の構築第4巻ネットワーク解析』(「政治交流編モンゴル」、158〜161頁)岩波書店、2006年に掲載した。第三に、本研究の分析概念である「小国」論に関する理論的な追求を行った。その研究成果について、早稲田大学21世紀COE現代アジア学の創生プログラム・院生フォーラム7月度研究会(於:COE-CAS事務局2階会議室)において研究報告を行い、日本の「小国」論研究の第一人者でもある百瀬宏氏(津田塾大学名誉教授にご指導をいただくことができた。
