项目摘要

本研究は、日本古代史における文書行政のあり方を考える上で不可欠な出土文字資料である漆紙文書について、その史料学的性格について次の三つの観点から明らかにすることを目的とした。第一には、漆紙文書は、漆塗作業において用いられた反古紙であることから、漆工房関係遺物全体の中で位置づけること、第二には、漆紙文書と伴出した木簡などの文字資料との関連を明らかにすること、第三には正倉院文書など伝世文書の中に位置づけることである。以上三つの観点を中心に研究を進め、漆生産、流通、漆器生産のあり方と、それぞれの場における反古紙供給のあり方を解明していくこととする。上記の目的を達成するために、具体的作業として、平城京・長岡京などの都城遺跡、及び、多賀城跡・秋田城跡などの東北地方城柵遺跡を含む地方官衙遺跡、その他集落遺跡などから出土した漆紙文書の集成を行った。その成果を踏まえ、特に伴出木簡との関連に留意しながら分析を行った。その結果、都城遺跡についてみると、漆塗作業の場は、継続的に操業していた漆工房の場合、建設現場に関係する場合、天皇、皇族の宮もしくは貴族の邸宅における比較的小規模な漆塗作業の場合、寺院における漆塗作業の場合、という四つの類型に分けられることが判明した。また、地方遺跡についてみると、国府の造営における漆塗作業に際し、国府から払い下げられた反古文書が再利用される場合、国府付属工房に対し、国府から払い下げられた反古文書が再利用される場合、国府付属工房に対し、漆生産地に近い郡において、郡廃棄の反古文書が蓋紙として付され、容器、内容物とともにもたらされる場合、郡家関連の工房に対し、工房に直接関連する部署から反古紙がもたらされる場合、などの類型が抽出できた。このことは、即ち、それぞれの漆塗作業の場の性格により、供給される反古紙の性格が異なることを示しており、漆紙文書の最終保管主体、廃棄主体などをめぐる史料学的性格を明らかにすることができた。

This study aims at exploring the administrative aspects of ancient Japanese history and the characteristics of historical materials.
