项目摘要

本研究では,モバイル機器を活用したe-learning環境における学習支援のためのヒューマンインタフェースの検討を行なうことを目的としている。本年度はモバイル機器を用いた学習活動のうち,文章理解のための「読み」の特性を明らかとするために,特にスクロールの幅の違いが文章内容の理解にどのような影響を及ぼすかについて実験的検討を行なった。パソコンのブラウザ上に,一般的なPDAサイズ枠に合わせてテキストエリアを確保し,適度な難易度と考えられる課題文章を表示させ,ボタンをクリックすることで読み進めることができる。スクロール要因では1ページごとにスクロールするPS条件と1行ごとスクロールするLS条件を用意した。被験者には2つのスクロール条件を異なる2つの課題文章条件(文章要因)と組み合わせて行なわせた。文章内容のリハーサルを妨害させるためのタスクを課した後,課題文章に記載されている5つのキーワードが文章全体のどのあたりに記載されているかを回答させた。スクロール要因と文章要因の二要因分散分析を行なったところ,それぞれの主効果が有意であった(p<.05)。スクロール要因では,PS条件の方がLS条件よりも有意に高い精度でキーワードの位置を回答していることが示された。しかし,文章別で分析すると,一方の課題文章条件でスクロール要因が有意ではなかった。以上の結果より,すべてのケースではないものの,スクロールタイプの違いが「読み」という学習活動に影響を及ぼすことが示された。モバイル機器が学習活動において,補助的ではなく主役として活用されていく状況が増えていくことを踏まえると,スクロールを用いた「読み」の特性を明らかにしていくことは意義があると考えられる。
