最終年度に当たる本年度では、イギリス財政革命を機に勃興した「投資社会」が、認識的・思想的にどの程度の広がりをもっていたのかを明らかにすることによって、「イギリス財政革命」の政治的・社会的影響を定位することをめざした。「イギリス財政革命」の時代に当たる18世紀前半より、「年金」(annuity)や「生命保険」を数学的な思考に基づいて合理的に測定しようとする社会的な動きがあらわれる。イギリス政府が起債した公債もまた、「年金」をもたらす投資手段として、こうした未来を可能な限り「合理的」に捉えようとする「学知」の対象となった。公債投資をより概念的に広いこうした動きに位置づけることによって、公債投資を中核とする「投資社会」の認識的・思想的広がりを明らかにした。「年金」や「生命保険」にかかわる書籍類・パンフレットは18世紀初めから19世紀半ばにいたるまで急増し、18世紀中のみをみても、すくなくとも200点以上は刊行された。本年度では、出張旅費および物品費を用いて、こうした史料類の調査・蒐集を進めるとともに、11月に、京都大学人文科学研究所の公開講演で、「公債・年金・いのち」と題して、研究成果の公表をおこなった。以上より、イギリス財政革命の政治的・社会的所産としての「投資社会」の実態に関する基礎的研究が完了した。
