本研究の最終年度である18年度は、研究の総括の一つとして『箱庭療法の事例と展開』のという図書の中に「人形の心理学」という論考を発表した。それは、群馬地域に根付いた人形を使った儀礼を研究した一つの成果であると共に、本年度6月に調査研究に赴いた台湾において検分調査した民間療法の一つであるタンキーの霊媒的な治療を心理科学的に研究した成果を取り入れたものである。人形という私たちの身辺にあるものが、時には依代として、また時には形代として機能し、それによって心理療法における投影的な役割を担い、人形という民俗の心理治療的な意義が生まれてくる。そのような人形の心理学を、古い民俗的なものから現代の風俗的なものまで取り上げてみることで、本研究の主たる目的であった過去と現在の接点、地域と都市の接点、心理療法と科学の接点が明らかにされていった。また9月には昨年同様にドイツ連邦共和国ミュンヘン市においてWolfgang Giegerich博士と夢の民俗学的意味と夢分析の実際についてのワークショップを開き、日本で報告されている夢の事例やヨーロッパにおける夢の分析的取り扱いについて研究し、二日間にわたって意見交換し研究成果を深めていった。そこで得られた夢と言語の問題は「文献研究の意義、あるいは魂の翻訳者の使命」に、夢の実際的体験的研究としては「教育分析体験と臨床の学び」に、夢を取り扱った心理療法の実践的指導のあり方については「南部論文へのコメント」にそれぞれ発表した。夢の心理療法的取り扱いについては、「身体への症状化の問題」や「身体感覚とイメージ」の問題との関連が今後の研究課題として残されて入るが、本研究が当初目的としていたイメージを民俗学的・心理哲学的に研究した成果は以上の1図書・3論文に十分にまとめられたと思われる。また、本研究の三年間の研究成果報告として、三年間の研究を概観できる形にまとめた報告書を作成し、その総括とした。
