本研究はアジア・ユーラシア地域の蒸発散量の推定モデルの検証と改良を行った上で10年間の蒸発量の変化を明らかにし,その地域差,変化要因を調べた. 全体としてこの地域では蒸発散量の変化は年々の増減が大きいが, 地域的に見ると有意なトレンドがあるのが, 東南アジア南部,中国北東部などでいずれも減少傾向にあった. これらの変化を起こす要因は地域ごとに異なっており, 単一のメカニズムによるものではないことが示唆された.
