本年度は次の3点について調査・考察を進め、それぞれについて成果を得た。1.本屋仲間記録を中心とする史料の調査・考察史料の調査・考察により、江戸時代後期には上方における草紙屋と本屋仲間との活動範囲をめぐる攻防が表面化していたことが明らかになった。2.絵入り出版物の調査京都・大坂出版界における絵入り出版物の出版状況を把握するため、全国各地の所蔵機関における書誌調査を実施した。本年度は特に狂歌本や名所図会を重点的に調査した。3.制作者グループの活動データの収集および活動の検討上記の調査を行う中で、歌川派の絵師の上方進出の問題が顕在化した。具体的には今後の研究課題としたが、上方絵師の活動状況のデータを収集した。本課題を追究する中で明らかになったのは、江戸時代後期における絵入り出版物をめぐる環境の変化であった。京都・大坂出版界では、絵入り出版物は基本的には本屋から出版されており、その版権を本屋仲間に属する書肆が強固に主張したことから、草紙屋の新たな出版活動は長期間にわたって押さえ込まれていたのである。しかしながら作者や読者のビジュアルな出版物への志向の高まりに伴って草紙屋の活動は徐々に盛んとなり、本屋仲間に属する書肆の版権の主張に草紙屋が簡単に屈することがなくなっていたのである。論文「貞享三年の池田屋岡田三郎右衛門-森田庄太郎との提携と『好色一代女』の刊行-」では、江戸時代中期の書肆と制作者の関係について考察した。西鶴『好色一代女』の成立に池田屋が深く関与していたことを明らかにし、出版物生成のモデルケースを提示した。
