项目摘要

引きつづき少数民族の生業と世帯経済に関する資料の分析をおこない、さらに国内および中国における補足調査からとくにローカルマーケットと世帯経済のかかわり、およびその変遷に関する資料を収集・補足した。ローカルマーケットは各地に点在し、そこでは漢族などの商人たちのように物品販売を主たる生業とする者の他に、近隣に暮らす少数民族がモノを売る姿も多数みられた。商人たちは毎回、衣類や布、日用雑貨、工具や農具、調味料や嗜好品などを大量に販売し、その品目はあまり変化しない。一方、少数民族は自宅近くで栽培する蔬菜類、ダイズや米、卵など自給用食材の一部や、竈や囲炉裏で燃やす薪から得られた消し炭を集めたものや手織りの反物などを販売していた。それらは量も金額もごく少ないが、定期的な現金収入(給与)がない多くの世帯はそこで得た少額の現金をもとに、日用雑貨や調味料、酒・タバコなどを購入していた。すなわちローカルマーケットは彼らが身近な食糧やモノを必要なときに必要なだけ売って手軽に現金を得ることができる場であり、彼らの日常生活に欠かせない場である。日常の衣食はそこでの売買でほぼ足りるようであり、ローカルマーケットは周辺に点在する村で暮らす多くの少数民族の日常の世帯経済をささえ、またつなぐネットワークの中心的な役割を果たしているといえる。ただし、近年の生活や社会状況の変化-建築材の変化や電化製品の普及、教育費の必要性などから、彼らの暮らしはローカルマーケットでの売買だけでは維持できない場面も増え、それをまかなうべく若年層の出稼ぎ労働が増えつつある。ローカルマーケットでの売買が少額かつ短期で完結しうるものであるのに対して、出稼ぎによる現金収入とその消費は高額かつ長期にわたるものになる。よって、彼らの世帯経済の長期的な収支や変遷を把握するためには、さらなる追跡が必要かと思われ、これは今後の課題としたい。
