项目摘要

本研究課題の最終年度にあたる平成19年度は、ベンチャー企業に支援を提供するインキュベータの役割に焦点を当て、その役割との関連から既存企業内におけるコーポレート・ベンチャー(以下CV)の役割、およびCVに支援を提供する母体企業の役割に関する調査研究を進めた。本年度は特にインキュベータがベンチャー企業をサポートするその実態やインキュベータの現状を把握するために、英国ケンブリッジにあるBabraham Research Campusを訪問し、BBT、ERBI、EEDA、およびEEIの各インキュベーション施設を視察した。各施設では、CEOあるいはインキュベーション・マネジャーによるプレゼンテーションが行われ、各施設の位置づけ・組織概要、ケンブリッジにおけるクラスターの魅力、ベンチャー企業支援活動、ケンブリッジを含む東イングランド地域のビジネス環境などについて把握することができた。CVに支援を提供する母体企業の役割およびベンチャー企業に支援を提供するインキュベータの役割についての考察は引き続き研究課題とするが、これまでの一連の調査研究から、既存企業が新規事業に進出する際には、対象となる新規事業の内容や性質、当該企業を取り巻く環境、進出先の新分野の特徴や環境、当該企業の保有する能力、プロセス、価値基準および経営資源等を考慮し、多元的なアプローチをとること、すなわちCVを体系的に活用して、既存事業の補完および発展、従来取り組んでいない新市場における新規事業への進出、および将来の新規事業を担うベンチャー企業への投資を行うことが必要であると考えるに至った。なお本研究課題を通じて本年度までに得られた知見は、学術雑誌への投稿や学会・研究会での報告を通じて可能な限り公表したいと考えている。
