平成19年度では、中国日系自動車メーカーのロジスティクスシステム構築に焦点を絞って、調査研究を進めた。具体的に、四川トヨタと広州ホンダを対象に、フィールド調査を実施し、それぞれの部品調達から完成車・アフターパーツまでのロジスティクス体制の実態解明に努めた。調査した内容を「四川トヨタ:完成車メーカーの調達物流システムはどのように構築されているのか」と「広州ホンダ:完成車メーカーの広域ロジスティクス拠点はどのような機能を担うのか」を題とする研究資料にまとめ、『流通設計21』に掲載された。今後、トヨタ、ホンダ両社の中国各拠点を順次訪問し、日系自動車メーカーの中国市場における物流戦略と物流体制構築について、深く調査する予定である。また、日系企業のグローバルサプライチェーンにおいて、中国港湾物流事業者が如何なる役割を果たしているのかについても、調査研究を開始した。具体的に、中国青島港の港湾物流企業3社の事例分析を通して、グローバルサプライチェーンマネジメントにおける港湾物流事業者の役割を検討した。港湾物流企業は経済グローバル化が進展する中で、従来の輸出入業務の支援事業から荷主企業のグローバルサプライチェーンマネジメントのサポーティング事業への転換が求められている。本研究では、オペレーション、コーディネーション、情報システム、政策の把握と活用の4つの側面から、グローバルサプライチェーンにおける港湾物流企業の果たしている連結者の役割を解明することを試みた。そのうえで、この役割転換にともない、物流企業が如何なる組織能力を形成しなければならないかについても考察を加えた。また、グローバル経営を展開する荷主企業と3PL型港湾物流企業がパートナーシップを構築することの重要性を示唆した。(日本港湾経済学会第二回懸賞研究論文優秀賞受賞論文・「グローバルサプライチェーン連結者としての港湾物流企業」)そのほかに、中国金型産業の市場化戦略についても調査研究を行った。
