全国版の医師名簿である『日本医籍録』から、キャリアおよび出来事経験の計量分析が可能なマイクロデータを作成した。戦前期の『日本医籍録』は、保存状態が悪く、国会図書館でもマイクロフィルム化が進められているさなかであり、閲覧は可能であるが、複写は困難な状況にある。そのため、関覧・複写ができ、当面分析をするうえで必要な、大正14年、昭和3年、昭和11年、昭和26年度の名簿から、東京府の医師にかぎってデータ入力を行った。同資料における、医師の登載数は、大正14年におけるは4600件から、昭和11年には約6200件に増加をしており、この時期に当時の医師数が、急速に増加をしていることが確認できる。ただし、人口に対する、医師数はまったくといっていいほど増加してはいない。すでに研究を行った福島県よりも、人口あたりの医師数は、3倍ほど多いが、その増加率は東京都と福島県に大きな差はない。また、昭和11年の東京における医師の平均年齢は40代後半であり、20代から30代前半の医師はわずかにすぎない。また当時の東京府の医師の出身地は11%程度にとどまり、関東出身者の割合も34%にとどまる。他県からの参入がきわめて多数に上ることがあきらかとなった。医師としての資格取得形態もまた、医専出身者、試験及第者の比率が比較的高くみられる点は、すでに分析を行った福島県と同様の傾向がみられる。同名簿には登録番号が記載されており、これを照合することによって、時点間での個人の登載状況を知ることができる。大正14年時に登載されており登録番号のわかる医師4161名のうち、昭和11年時にも登載されていたものは、2018名にとどまった。名簿の不備や登録番号の記載漏れ等も考えられるが、県外への移転、廃業、死亡などによる異動の結果が大部分を占めると思われる。わずかな11年の期間に、きわめて高い移動がなされていることがあきらかとなった。ただし、資料の性格上、原資料そのものに不備かおる可能性は否めない。今後データのクリーニングと補完を進めたうえで、慎重に詳細な分析を行っていく必要がある。
