1年目に実施した、無彩色背景有彩色文書を視対象として文字色を種々に設定して文書の読みやすさを評価させる主観評価実験では、色覚正常と色覚異常の評価傾向に大差がなかったことから、背景色を無彩色に限定したままでは、色覚特性による読みやすさの差異が明らかにならない可能性が考えられ、2年目では急遽予定を変更し、有彩色背景も含めた実験条件を実施することにした。2年目の実験結果では、有彩色背景有彩色文字の読みやすさについては色覚正常についても充分な知見が得られているとは言い難く、まずは、色覚正常に重点を置いて実験を実施したが、3年目では色覚異常の人について実験を実施しデータの蓄積を行った。以下に3年目の実験方法と結果の概略を示す。被験者の確保が難しかったが、第一色覚異常1名、第二色覚異常2名を対象とし、被験者の色覚はアノマロスコープにて判定した。視対象を提示する装置は昨年度作成した物をそのまま用いた。モニターに表示する文書の背景としてモニターの背景を有彩色とし、有彩色文字を提示した。BOX内面の輝度はモニターの背景の輝度と一致させている。背景輝度、文字と背景の輝度対比、文字の大きさ、文字の色度、背景の色度を変量として種々の条件を設定している。背景色は無彩色と色相の異なる6色とし、文字の色度は、背景色からのCIELAB色差とその方位との組合せで背景色毎に数十種設定した、また、背景と同一の混同色線(第一色覚異常と第二色覚異常)上の色も設定した。各被験者同一条件について5回の読みやすさ及び一部条件について色の見え方評価を得た。各実験変量と読みやすさ評価との関係とともに、各実験変量と実験結果から算定される等価輝度対比との関係を検討した。すべての背景色について同一混同色線上にある色であっても、読みやすさに差が見られることがわかり、それらの傾向に色覚特性の違いは特には見られなかった。色覚異常であっても色覚正常と色による背景と文字の識別性には大差がないかもしれないことが示唆される。本実験条件の範囲内では読みやすさ評価に色覚正常者と色覚異常者間では傾向に大差はなかったが、色の見え方については傾向が異なる結果が得られた。今後は視認性(読みやすさ)と色の見え方の差異との関係を明らかにしていく必要があると考えられる。なお、2年目までの成果をまとめて雑誌論文に投稿中である。
