ギアレスのダイレクトドライブ永久磁石同期発電機の各種ロータ構造について有限要素法による磁界解析を行い、トルク、出力、効率、コギングトルクなどの特性を比較検討し、小形風力発電に適した構造を明らかにした。また、風速センサと位置・速度センサを使用することなく風力エネルギーを最大限有効利用し、発電出力を最大化する発電機制御システムを開発し、シミュレーションと模擬風車実験装置を用いた実験により有効性を確認した。
