初年度に引き続き、教育成果が不確実な状況下での教育の意思決定を記述する理論的な枠組みの構築を主要なテーマとして研究に従事した。早期に専門化を行うことで、各個人の適性や能力に応じた、より効果的な教育が可能になると期待される一方で、早い段階での専門化は(教育成果が不確実であるがゆえに)個人を過度なリスクにさらすこととなる。こうしたトレードオフに直面した状況で、専門化が行われるタイミングならびにその選抜基準に関して、望ましい教育制度のあり方を、理論・実証両面から検証することに努めた。今年度の研究においては、チェスプレイヤー間の競争を通じた訓練過程を題材として動学的な意思決定モデルを構築し、教育意思決定の諸要因に関して実証的な推定作業を行った。そこで導かれた主要な結論は、チェスプレイヤーの意思決定において外部の機会費用が決定的に重要であるというものであり、その成果はワーキングペーパーとして発表した。
