性転換を行う植物として知られているサトイモ科のマムシグサ(Arisaema serratum)を対象に,性転換サイズを長野県安曇野市,石川県金沢市,茨城県つくば市の3集団で比較した。その結果,性転換が起こる臨界サイズには集団間で変異が認められ,長野集団が最も小さく,石川集団が最も大きかった。また,種子の父性解析によって繁殖成功度を推定するためのマイクロサテライトマーカーを新たに開発した。
