项目摘要

本研究の課題は、二つの視野から南インドのケーララ州で広がりつつある有機農業認証を介した有機農業の普及を検証することである。より広い視野からは、ケーララ州における有機農産物の生産がグローバル農産物市場とどのようにかかわっているか、有機農産物のフードシステムを調査することである。そして農村レベルにおいては、有機農業への転換が、人間と生態環境、人間同士の関係にどのような影響を与えているか明らかにしようとするものである。最終年度となる本年は、これまで収集してきたデータの統合と分析を中心にした研究活動を実施してきた。農村レベルで起こっていることと世界的なスケールで起こっていることを結びつけ、認証を介した有機農業の普及は代替的な農業の形成を促しえるのか、その可能性と問題点を解明してきた。その結果、有機農業認証に対する先行研究の論点とは異なる視点を加えることができたと考える。より具体的に言えば、先行研究では有機農業認証を介するならば、市場中心主義や生産中心主義に牽引されて、そもそも有機農業が批判してきた近代農業と何ら変わらなくなっていくと指摘している。これに対して本研究では、有機農業認証の導入が常にそのような市場主義や生産中心主義に回収されていくわけでない。社会組織、市場、技術と認証制度はいずれも相互に変化し、想定外の結果をも引き起こしていくことを実証的に示した。これらの研究結果は、日本文化人類学会研究大会と日本有機農業学会研究大会において報告を行い、一定の評価を得ることができたと考える。

The results of this study were presented at the Research Conference of the Japanese Society of Cultural Anthropology and the Research Conference of the Japanese Society of Organic Agriculture.
