2007年からの研究を分析を行いまして、日本地域学会の「地域学研究」に投稿,その論文は2009年12月「地域学研究」第39巻第3号に掲載されました。論文の課題は「社会ネットワーク理論によるグリーン・ツーリズム関係主体分析」です。本研究はグーリンツーリズム(以下GT)の開発を取り巻く関係主体の特性を明らかにし,これまでの分析方法の対案として社会ネットワーク分析の事例研究を通じて,関係主体の研究に社会ネットワーク理論の適用可能性を検討した.調査は北海道GTの成功地である十勝地域の新得町と鹿追町でインタビューとネットワークに関するアンケートで行われた.内容はGT成功地の関係主体の特性を人口及び社会経済的な特性,GT関連特性,関係的特性などに分けて調査,分析し,その特徴を明らかにした.関係的特性の6種類の社会ネットワークの構造でそれぞれのネットワーク密度に傾向的な違いがあった.すなわち,GTに関する関係主体のネットワーク構造は新得町の方が鹿追町よりネットワーク密度が低く,閉鎖的であった.この結果に基づいて同じレベルのGT成功地でもその地域のネットワークの特性は異なることが分かった.そこで,二つの地域の関係主体の特性を分析した結果,相対的に密度が高かった鹿追町関係主体の方が,(1)他の地域からの移住者がない(2)その地域での平均居住期間が長い(3)年平均世帯所得が高い(4)全所得の中でGT関連所得の割合が高い(5)GT事業の開始動機が農家所得の増大であり(6)GT事業の持続時間が短い,ことが明らかになった.同じレベルの成功地と言われる二つの地域でもネットワークの特性が異なる事は地域特性によって多様なネットワークの構造が存在することを意味する.
