本研究は、開発下の途上国の小規模農家が「持続的農業」を取り入れる際の条件や生活戦略について明らかにするものである。タイ国家の経済開発政策の影響を受け、生活環境・農業経営に変化があったタイ東北部農村における小規模農家を事例として扱い、現地で徐々に普及しつつある「持続的農業」が、制約された条件下での資源配分として、農民生活、農村社会、自然環境の維持と向上に対してどの程度有効であるかを検討するものである。平成20年度は、タイ東北部コンケン国立大学農学部の教授の指導のもと、タイ東北部の3つの農村で昨年度に引き続き調査を行った。村人や住民組織に半構造型インタビューを行い、本研究の事例として扱えるだけの詳細な情報を得た。また、ラオス政府の農林省農業局から調査許可を取得した上で現地調査を行った。本課題を、異なる発展段階・経済体制との国際比較を通じて、開発後進地域が経済発展につれて抱える経済格差の拡大や農業近代化の恩恵を享受できない限界的小農の「生活の安定」に寄与しうる研究にしていくためである。上記のように研究を進め、平成20年度の研究成果として、国際開発学会の第9回春季大会で口頭発表を行い、韓国の延世大学の国際シンポジウムで発表の際に執筆した'Rural Order in a Transition Phase'の共著論文が収録された"Dispute and Cooperation in Northeast Asia"が発刊された。

This study aims to explore the conditions and strategies of sustainable agriculture for small-scale farmers in China. The impact of national economic development policies, living environment and agricultural management on small-scale farmers in rural areas of Northeast China, and the popularization of agricultural resources under the conditions of sustainable development, farmers 'living conditions, rural society, and the maintenance of the natural environment are discussed. In 2010, the Department of Agriculture of the National University of Japan conducted a survey in the rural areas of Japan. Detailed information about the implementation of semi-structured Internet services for village people and resident organizations and the case studies of this study are available. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the People's Republic of China has obtained a permit for on-site investigation. This topic is about the international comparison of the development stage, economic system and the development of the backward region. The above research progress, the research results of the 20th year of Pingcheng, the oral presentation of the 9th Spring Conference of the International Development Society, the co-author of the paper "Rural Order in a Transition Phase" of Yonsei University in Korea, and the publication of "Dispute and Cooperation in Northeast Asia."
