本研究の目的は混合溶媒中のミクロな不均一溶媒クラスターの生成とその選択的溶媒和に基づいて、新しい分離カラム不要の流れ分離分析法を構築することである。混合溶媒の種類と組成を変えて実験した結果、水とイオン液体の混合溶媒が最適な分離溶媒であることが分かった。中でも長鎖イオン液体と水との混合溶媒では4種のフェノール化合物をキャピラリーに流すだけで、数万の理論段数で分離が可能となった。新しい分離機能を持つ流れ分析法の始まりである。
