水/界面活性剤/有機溶媒を利用するゼオライト合成法により, モルデナイト結晶のナノサイズ化に成功した. ナノサイズモルデナイト結晶の外表面酸点を, 有機シラン化合物由来シリカにより選択的に不活性化させた構造性活性点を有する触媒の開発, およびモルデナイトナノクリスタルを積層させた膜型構造体触媒反応器の開発に成功した. 同モルデナイト触媒はナフタレンからの2,6-ジメチルナフタレン選択合成に高活性を示した.
