ハイパワー電池材料を得るために様々なイオン伝導チャンネルをもつ構造体の構築を目指した。一次元系サブナノ伝導チャンネル物質CoV3O8 について構造を精密に調べ、リチウム挿入サイトをほぼ決定した。二次元系伝導チャンネル物質のグラファイト層間化合物においてリチウムの挿入過程及び引き抜き過程における構造変化を詳細に調べた。さらに、三相界面に適した複合伝導チャンネル構造を探索し、部分酸化反応とガス拡散とを両立した高い出力特性の燃料極支持型一室式燃料電池を作製した。
