We investigated the effects of underwater therapeutic exercise on middle-the aged lumbago, coxarthrosis, gonarthrosis, omalgia and rheumatoid arthritis patients (total number of 134 people, mean 56.8 years old). We have opened underwater therapeutic class twice a week for about 6.0 months. We had done various physical examinations, Japan Orthopaedic Association (JOA) evaluation before and after exercise, respectively. Several findings have been obtained as follows.(1) In the groups of several disease, the obesity, function of respiration and circulation, elasticity and muscle power of a trunk and extremities, bone mineral density and JOA evaluation score improved significantly after the underwater exercise period of 6.0 months (p<0.05).(2) Good effects for circulatory function were observed in underwater exercise with balneotherapy. It was revealed that underwater therapeutic exercise provided improvement on the rheumatoid symptoms and reduction effect on medical treatment cost.

我们调查了水下治疗运动对中老年腰痛、髋关节、膝关节病、肩周炎和类风湿关节炎患者的影响（总共134人，平均56.8岁）。我们每周开设两次水下治疗课程，为期约 6 个月。我们在运动前和运动后分别做了各种体检、日本骨科协会（JOA）评估。研究结果如下：(1)多种疾病组的肥胖、呼吸循​​环功能、躯干和四肢的弹性和肌力、骨密度和JOA评分在经过6.0个月的水下运动期后显着改善(p<0.05)。(2)水下浴疗运动对循环功能有良好的效果。据透露，水下治疗运动可以改善类风湿症状并降低医疗费用。
